Etrian Odyssey, the Popular 3D Action-RPG Series from ATLUS is Making a 
Return on the Nintendo Switch™ and Steam!

February 9, 2023 – SEGA is pleased to announce that Etrian Odyssey, the popular 3D action RPG series from ATLUS, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch™ and Steam on June 1st, 2023 (Thu). “Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection” is a remastered collection of the original three titles in the series “Etrian Odyssey”, “Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard”, and “Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City”.

 

Etrian Odyssey is a 3D dungeon-crawling RPG where players select adventurers from a variety of classes and combine their skills to search for an immense treasure sleeping within a vast labyrinth, all while creating a unique and personalized map. With beautifully upgraded visuals and the addition of ease-of-play functions, enjoy a remastered experience of the original three games in “Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection”.

Vibrant and Beautifully Renewed HD Graphics!

Originally released on the Nintendo DS, these three titles have received beautifully upgraded HD graphics. The dungeon interiors, characters, facilities, monsters, and more have all been painted anew with crisp, vivid visuals, allowing players to immerse themselves in these worlds like never before. With polished battle effects, players can also enjoy deeper and more engaging combat than before!

New Ease-of-Play and Quality-of-Life Features

  • Difficulty Levels Added
    • With three difficulty levels, players from all backgrounds can enjoy the game with ease. “Picnic” is perfect for beginners, “Basic” is great for casual adventurers, and “Expert” (the difficulty of the original games) is the go-to for veterans of the series. The selected difficulty can be changed afterwards, so feel free to tackle the game at whatever pace you like.

  • Choose How You Want to Draw Maps
    • In this title, you can draw maps of your surroundings by either using the controller or touching the screen. These two modes also have further detailed options, allowing for more customization. Create maps in a way that best suits your playstyle.

  • Enjoy a More Pleasant Experience with Auto-Mapping
    • Along with an improved auto-mapping function, a new mode that allows you to automatically record floors and walls has been added. Newcomers to map drawing can traverse with ease!

More variety with new class portraits


In Etrian Odyssey, players assign classes to their adventurers and level up their skills while progressing through the game. In the HD remasters, all classes have received new, illustrated portraits from series character designer Yuji Himukai, for a total of 24 new portraits among the three titles.

 

Furthermore, there are now five selectable portraits* per class, one more than in the original games.

Join forces with familiar faces and new ones alike when you journey into the Labyrinth.
