A new Corpse Party installment is in the works!

We have to say good bye to Ayame.

August 12, 2023 - Today marks the 13th anniversary of the release of the PSP Cult Classic Corpse Party: Blood Covered... Repeated Fear and what better way to celebrate the anniversary is there than to announce a brand new installment in the series up in the works!

Unfortunately for Ayame's fans, it's not going to be a continuation nor a recreation of Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient as it is going to be its own game, having its own story and all.

Here's what the Original Story Screenwriter, Shin Kedoin, has to say about the game:

We have produced a completely new sequel to the series, "Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion". A new horror awaits you in a new setting, laughing cruelly. I hope that it will be an encouragement to everyone who is fighting against this terrible world. Please be safe! I hope you can enjoy the ever-expanding world of Corpse.

As far as the series producer is concerned, here's what Yasuhiko Nomura of MAGES has to say:

Dear Corpse Party fans, thank you for your patience. It's been nine years since "Corpse Party BLOOD DRIVE". A completely original story written by Mr. Kedoin "Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion" is in the works. Please look forward to the "new world of Corpse II", which is different from the previous Corpse and PC version of Corpse 9! Recently, General Producer Asada has been suffering from serious psychic phenomena, and I have been experiencing pain from my hip to my left leg for some time, and it is starting to interfere with my production. If anyone would like to exorcise or exorcise spirits, please contact us. Please be careful.

The new game titled Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion has been announced through the official Corpse Party Twitter account. It is set to release in 2024 but there are still no announcements on which platforms it is going to release on.

They also announced that they will have a proper official announcement soon.

NOTE: Messages from the screenwriter and series director are rough translations.
